About David Fong
Inspired by God's creation of landscape and nature, David has utilized his digital cameras (Sony A7RIII and Sony A6000 with sharp lens like Sony 24-240mm, Sony 100-400mm GM, Irix 15mm, Rokinon 12mm, Sony 18-135mm, Laowa 90mm macro, Panasonic ZS20, iphone 13 pro max, iphone 8 plus) and photography skills to capture time snippets of land, water, sea, seashores, sky, animals, architecture and people. Initially trained in STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) during college years, David worked many years in computer hardware engineering creating semiconductor devices for computers and 3D graphics engines. He dabbled with his creative side with music via acoustic guitar but found it was too difficult and too late to become a rock star. Photography was a hobby that allowed one to wake up early to catch sunrises. Likewise, one can watch the sun dip down the horizon for sunsets and capture landscapes like seashores, mountains, valleys, and lakes. And in the late night one can capture the Milky Way core at certain seasons of the year. With my technical background, photography allowed me to quickly catch up in knowledge of photography physical aspects like lighting, depth of field, optics and colors. And one can take photographs any time of the day and any day of the week. Opportunities are unlimited. Many thanks to forerunner landscape photographers like Ansel Adams and recent photographers for sharing their insights and passion. Photography is an art that one uses creative, technical and some physical skills, such as hiking to remote locations, to capture that atmospheric conditions, sky (Milky Way core, sun, moon, planets, stars, comets, galaxies), sea, water, animals, greenery, colors, lighting, and the feeling at that moment of time.
